Indian wealth firm creates platform for women

By Robbie Lawther, 9 Mar 23

There is a need ‘to evolve and cater to this growing demographic uniquely’

India-based multi-family office Waterfield has launched its wealth advisory platform for women called Heritage.

The platform aims to improve the relationship of high-net-worth (HNW) women with their wealth.

Heritage by Waterfield is a first-of-its-kind holistic wealth advisory service crafted exclusively for women founders, entrepreneurs, inheritors, and senior corporate professionals, empowering them to achieve their financial goals, protect their assets, and create a legacy for themselves and their families.

Through Heritage, women will be able to access Waterfield’s advice across asset classes, portfolio managers, and geographic regions, as well as access to financial literacy programmes, workshops, and women-only networking events.

Soumya Rajan, founder and chief executive of Waterfield, said: “There is no debate that women are progressively growing into an economic powerhouse. Approximately one-third of the global wealth is now owned by women. With our decade-long experience advising women of wealth, we identified the need for the wealth management ecosystem to evolve and cater to this growing demographic uniquely.

“With our distinctive proposition, we aim to help women become more confident and comfortable with their wealth, advise them on their investment decisions, and build a strong community of women of wealth in the country.”

Nita Shivdasani, head of Heritage at Waterfield, added: “Heritage will be dedicated to providing financial empowerment for our next-gen women inheritors, entrepreneurs, and professionals through our advisory platform.

“Having spent over 25 years in the financial services industry, I always aspired to work toward women’s empowerment through financial freedom. Through our three Heritage pillars, we would help women take the right steps toward their financial well-being. We can play a positive role in closing the financial asset gap that would help women build financial independence and security for their future.”
