Invesco Powershares has appointed Giles Boitel as business development director for Switzerland.

Invesco Powershares has appointed Giles Boitel as business development director for Switzerland.

The exchange traded product provider said Boitel will be responsible for “driving business development in Switzerland”, which it describes as a “key expansion market”.

Boitel was previously responsible for institutional clients in Switzerland and Liechtenstein at Source, also an ETF provider. Prior to this, he held roles at Accenture, as a financial services research specialist in Buenos Aires and was responsible for ETF distribution to private banks, wealth managers and family offices in Switzerland for iShares.

Bryon Lake, head of Invesco PowerShares – EMEA, said: “Gilles’s appointment reinforces our strategy to develop our presence in countries such as Switzerland where there is a clear demand for Smart Beta ETFs.

“His expertise and specialist knowledge of the Swiss market is a great asset to our team and as the ETF industry continues to expand in Europe, we have been focusing on developing our team to best support our growth in these core regions.”
