Metlife names interim ceo for Australian ops

MetLife Insurance has appointed Damien Green, head of employee benefits in Asia, for an additional role of interim chief executive of the Australian business, replacing Marc Lieberman.

MetLife Insurance has appointed Damien Green, head of employee benefits in Asia, for an additional role of interim chief executive of the Australian business, replacing Marc Lieberman.

Green, who has over 10 years of insurance industry experience, having previously served as AIA’s CEO of group corporate solutions in Hong Kong. He was also CEO for AIA in Australia before joining MetLife in his current role. 
 
Reporting to Nirmala Menon, head of designated markets and health, Green will serve in the position until a successor is found. 
 
 “Australia is an important market for MetLife, and we have a robust business and a strong senior management team in the country," Menon said.
 
“I am sure that Damien (Green) and the team will work hard to ensure that the transition is seamless and that we continue to move forward on our Australian strategy and priorities."
 
MetLife through its subsidiaries and affiliates operates in the United States, Japan, Latin America, Asia, Europe and the Middle East, serving 90m customers.
