nils lijeberg officially starts as ailo chairman

By Mark Battersby, 25 Nov 13

Nils Lijeberg, the managing director of SEB Life International, has been officially announced as the new chairman of the Association of International Life Offices.

Nils Lijeberg, the managing director of SEB Life International, has been officially announced as the new chairman of the Association of International Life Offices.

AILO elected Liljeberg on 17 October at its annual general meeting, to take over from Claudia Lang who has now completed her two year term.

Liljeberg has twenty years’ experience within the financial services industry, having previously worked for Price Waterhouse and Swedbank Insurance before moving to Ireland in 2001 to join SEB Life International where he has been managing director since 2005.

In a formal announcement yesterday, Alan Morgan-Moodie, AILO chief executive, said: “I am delighted to welcome Nils to the AILO management committee and I want to thank Claudia, on behalf of the membership, for all her hard work and support to the association.”

AILO also announced that the 2013 James Ball Memorial Award was given to Graham Beevers, in recognition of his long-standing commitment to AILO. Beever has been in AILO's treasurer role since 2011.

The James Ball Memorial Award was instigated by AILO in memory of James Ball, a founder of the international industry and AILO, who died suddenly in May 2005. This annual award is made to the individual who has, in the opinion of AILO’s members, made a significant contribution to the international and cross-border life industry.
