Gina Garman has been hired as a senior private client adviser at wealth manager HFM Columbus in a newly-created role to help boost the company’s presence in the non-domiciled and expat segment of the high net worth market

The former financial director at Towergate, who started her new role earlier this month, is planning to introduce a range of "innovative" products and services for the offshore investment banking community.

According to Garman, following changes to the remittance basis and business investment rules there are now opportunities to add ‘real value’ to clients’ wealth planning.

“I will be working with our advisory team to help develop our collective offering to the international community focussing on areas such as offshore investments, tax and IHT planning, for example, as these are areas we are very keen to expand,” she said.

Jeremy Hoyland, founder and director, HFM Columbus, added that it was clear the offshore sector was “a rapidly expanding, but complex area” and he indicated that Garman’s hire would be the first of many.

“HFM Columbus continues to expand and is currently recruiting suitably qualified applicants who can bring significant client assets with them,” he said.
