Praemium has appointed a new chief operating officer to support its international and UK businesses.

Praemium has appointed a new chief operating officer to support its international and UK businesses.

Jon Farmer joined the company three years ago and has over 17 years’ experience in operations, product and business development.

He was previously head of platform distribution at the company, where he worked with asset managers and large adviser firms in both the UK and international markets.

In the past, he has also held positions at BNP Paribas Securities Services and Jupiter Unit Trust Managers.

In his new role, he will report to group chief operating officer Chris Silcox.

On his appointment, Farmer said: “My role will be to ensure we have the right operational infrastructure in place to continue to deliver a high quality service to all existing and new clients, whilst maximising the opportunities that we have identified as a business.”

Based in Melbourne, Praemium provides administration to investments, separately managed accounts and financial planning technology platforms.

It administers in excess of 300,000 investor accounts covering approximately £50bn in funds globally, as well as providing services to approximately 700 financial institutions and intermediaries.

In December, it agreed a deal with the Jersey-based international division of Royal Bank of Scotland to provide platform services to its expatriate clients.

Under the deal, Praemium International, the Jersey-based subsidiary of Praemium, will provide its platform services, including its separately managed account range, to RBS International's clients outside of the UK.
