By International Adviser, 15 Oct 15

The vice-president for Manulife Asset Management’s investment funds operation in Hong Kong is to quit the company.

The Canada-headquartered fund house confirmed on Wednesday that Steve Chiu will leave the firm on 30 October.

“Steve’s departure will not affect the company’s investment funds operations or its investment product offerings in Hong Kong,” a Manulife spokeswoman said.

“We wish Steve well in his future endeavours.”

Chiu has worked at Manulife since 2012. The firm said he will not be replaced.

On Thursday, Manulife AM also announced the appointment of Frederick Reidenbach as chief financial officer and Grace Ho as chief marketing officer for its Asian wealth and asset management arm, as reported in International Adviser’s sister publication Fund Selector Asia.

In March, the asset manager’s Asia arm said it was planning to merge its wealth and asset management divisions in a bid to tap into cash deposits across the region.
