STM Group‚ the AIM-listed‚ Gibraltar-based QROPS specialist‚ has promoted Therese Neish to its board as chief financial officer‚ as Alan Kentish moves to oversee product and business development.

Kentish's position is a new one, created in response to STM's recent and rapid growth across a range of product categories and jurisdictions in the seven years the company has been in business. In addition to QROPS and other types of pension products, STM is involved in trusts, life insurance, and, as reported last year, has launched a life insurance bond product designed specifically for the German and German expat market.

As well as Gibraltar, the company has operations in Spain, Jersey, Malta and Cyprus.

Neish, who most recently has been group financial controller at STM, joined in 2003 from KPMG, and spent five years in its insurance management division.

Colin Porter, STM chief executive, said Neish’s work with the company's senior management team over the past 10 years had given her a thorough knowledge of the business.

Kentish, he added, will have much to offer in helping STM to shape products for markets in which "the current product choice does not meet customer requirements”, as was said to be the case in Germany before the launch of STM's Life Capital Bond for that market.
