London & Colonial appoints new head of sales

24 Apr 15

QROPS provider London & Colonial has appointed a new head of sales to further its existing distribution channels.

QROPS provider London & Colonial has appointed a new head of sales to further its existing distribution channels.

Martin McDermott was formerly head of partnership development at Zurich, where he ran their “face-to-face” sales team.

In his new role, he will report directly to chief executive Ken Wrench.

His main focus will be the further development of the company’s existing distribution channels, together with increasing sales of its range of accumulation and decummulation retirement solutions.

On the appointment, Wrench said: “Not only will [McDermott] be ensuring that we continue to capitalise on our existing distribution channels, but he will be overseeing the development of new ones, through the expansion of our existing sales teams and the utilisation of his extensive industry contact.”

Earlier this month, the company launched a new flexible self-invested personal pension (SIPP) called the Simple Investment SIPP aimed at savers looking to have more control over their pension pot following the 6 April pension reforms.
