Predicting the future is tough - just ask a group of economists - so what were experts saying about last year? How accurate were they? What are they saying about 2014? Do you believe them?

But how many of these predictions are worth reading? Are they any good?

Prior to 2008, for example, Nouriel “Dr Doom” Roubini predicted the global financial crash; for 2013 he suggested the global financial system would “grind to a halt”. One prediction made him famous, the other now barely gets a mention so what does he see in his crystal ball for 2014? And, more importantly, do you believe him this time?

Alongside Roubini we take a similar look at a cross-section of fund managers, company CEOs and investment specialists to see look at the success or otherwise of their 2013 predictions allowing you to make your own assessment of their views for this year.

Click here to see what 2014 holds for Roubini and co.
