BTG Pactual acquires stake in Brazilian investment platform

By Cristian Angeloni, 15 Jun 21

Deal will give the bank access to a wider range of products

Brazilian bank Banco BTG Pactual has bought a minority stake in asset and wealth management platform Perfin.

According to financial blog Brazil Journal, Perfin has around BRL21bn (£2.7bn, $4bn, €3.2bn) assets under custody – BRL15bn in advised assets and BRL6.5bn in equity and infrastructure funds.

The deal is expected to boost BTG’s investment platform BTG Digital and give access to a wider range of products.

The Brazilian bank did not disclose the size of the stake or the sum paid to the platform for it.

Perfin will continue as an open platform following the deal, and its partners will retain control of the investment process and business management.
