Baker joined Zurich in May 2012 having spent the bulk of his career at Prudential, where he was latterly general manager of the firm’s Vietnam business.
No details were provided about Baker’s plans following his departure.
The news follows swiftly on the heels of an announcement from Zurich on Thursday that Peter Huber has been appointed chief executive of the insurer’s international business.
The company added that Walter Jopp, chief executive of Zurich – Middle East would report to Huber.
