Cofunds improves drawdown visibility

By Kirsten Hastings, 5 Jan 16

Investment platform Cofunds has launched a new feature to help financial advisers better monitor and manage their clients’ decumulation strategies.

Investment platform Cofunds has launched a new feature to help financial advisers better monitor and manage their clients’ decumulation strategies.

Users of the Legal & General owned platform can, via the Cofunds Pension Account, access specific financial details on a client-by-client basis through the platform’s ‘My Client Dashboard’ summary.

The data available includes the total value of crystalised and uncrystallised assets, and the amount of pension commencement lump sum taken and the amount still available.

Martin Wigginton, head of product, Cofunds, said: “It is clear that retirement management is not a one-off task but an ongoing commitment. This latest improvement to drawdown visibility supports advisers in carrying out regular reviews, tracking their clients’ capital values, and viewing withdrawn income.

“Following the introduction of flexi-access drawdown, retirement for some will now be about ‘living and giving’, drawing money down for their own income and possibly leaving a legacy for future generations.

“It is clear that retirement management is not a one-off task but an ongoing commitment."

“The dashboard improvements are an example of us continuing to work closely with advisers to support and grow their businesses.  Responding to feedback and developing platform services that are of real value to them and their clients are key priorities for us,” he said.

Marty Evans, IFA and founder of Evans Ash Financial Services, said: “In line with the new pension rules, it is great to see that Cofunds has taken our suggestion on board and created greater visibility of drawdown. Being able to view my clients’ drawdown values online now means I can track their holdings both simply and time effectively.”
