Non-Doms: The New Political Battleground

Some commentators were prompted to say that the election battle began in earnest earlier this week, with Ed Miliband’s announcement Labour will do away with the rules which provide for the remittance basis of taxation in the UK.
What will happen next?
The Conservatives have announced they would restrict the ability to inherit non domicile status, so it is clear one way or another that the rules will be significantly changed.
Let’s just hope some measured analysis will prevail when whoever wins comes to rewriting the rules – something which has so far been sadly absent from the debate.
