Financial advice business fails

By Cristian Angeloni, 24 Oct 22

UK lifeboat scheme has already received pension-related claims against it

The Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) has declared that Derbyshire IFA firm Hallmark Ltd failed on 20 October 2022.

The company, registered as Hallmark (East Midlands) Limited, also traded as Hallmark Mortgages & Overseas Properties and used to be called Abbot Insurance Brokers as well.

The Financial Conduct Authority Register states the business stopped being regulated on 23 September 2011, and Companies House filings show it was dissolved on 2 March 2022.

The FSCS told International Adviser it has already received seven claims against Hallmark related to pensions, but none of them are about the British Steel Pension Scheme.

Hallmark’s website was down at the time of publication.
