Hansard names four more senior roles for global plans

By Mark Battersby, 10 Nov 15

Hansard International has made a raft of further senior appointments as part of its expansion plans in Asia and Latin America.

Hansard International has made a raft of further senior appointments as part of its expansion plans in Asia and Latin America.

The four hires follows the news reported by International Adviser last week that former Standard Life director Michael Wrigley is to become head of sales for southeast Asia in November.

Wrigley will be joined by Tommy So, a former senior sales manager at Zurich International Life who becomes head of business development northeast Asia, reporting to Elba Tse, general manager for northeast Asia.

So was senior sales manager for six years at Zurich’s Hong Kong office, with a strong focus on IFA distribution and also fund propositions and marketing events.

Most recently he was vice president at Superfund Financial in Hong Kong, an Austrian-based CTA fund manager where he had responsibility for business development.

Norrie Little, sales development manager, has also joined Hansard from Zurich International where he worked for 21 years.

During his time at Zurich he held a number of senior management positions within operations, propositions, sales and finance, including a two year period living and working in Hong Kong.

His role will involve growing relationships with IFAs over the long term, expanding into new territories and maximising the value of its existing customer base.

In Latin America, Ed Alderson has been named as sales development manager for the region, after recently moving across from Friends Provident International where he had joined the industry in 2003.

His role, based in Hansard’s Isle of Man head office, will focus on nurturing new and existing distribution partners across Central and South America, travelling to the region on a regular basis to discuss its current proposition and establish new business opportunities.

Finally, Maria Santodomingo Lorente becomes account executive, existing business, having previously worked at Friends Provident International from 2008, working as part of the Latin American team before moving into sales operations in a proactive sales support in the region.

She subsequently went on to join Hansard in 2013 as relationship manager and recently started within the  Hansard development team as account executive for existing business.

The Hansard Group currently operates principally the geographic markets of the Far East, Latin America and the Middle East, in the case of Hansard International, and Western Europe in the case of Hansard Europe, which closed to new business with effect from 30 June 2013.
