Wheatley is due to take up a senior position at the UK financial services regulator.
Lam was previously deputy chief executive at the SFC during a tenure which saw her lead a number of initiatives. These included the enactment of the Securities and Futures Ordinance, reforming the margin financing rules and promoting Hong Kong as an international asset management centre.
