I was due to be at an investment seminar this morning at The Westbury Hotel in Mayfair, but one of my clients sent me an e-mail late last night to sell all her current fund holdings in the Old Mutual platform (which she held in her Old Mutual offshore bond so as to benefit from the fund rebates) and send the money back to her offshore bond where she intends to buy the same portfolio of funds but with all the clean share classes.

By doing this, she hopes to eradicate the need to hold the platform within the bond just to get the fund rebates, thus saving around £235pm in platform charges.

Obviously, I had to give the investment seminar a miss, as getting all these trades through correctly, and in a timely manner was my number one priority.

I still made it into the city as I had to meet an existing client at 2.00pm to look at what to do with an old DB scheme they had just discovered.

I also had a meeting a 3.30pm with a potential new client who has apparently been hassled by AES International in Switzerland to transfer his existing BT DB scheme to a QROPS.

Finally arrive home 6.45pm, had some dinner and then caught up with e-mails till 9.30pm.
