Course will allow students to become authorised investment advisers

Bombay Stock Exchange-listed education provider Vantage Knowledge Academy is setting up a school to create the next generation of global wealth managers.

The Vantage Business School will offer a Post Graduate Diploma in Business and Wealth Management (PGDBM) in the academic year 2019-2020.

The school will be based in LN College, which is an affiliate of the University of Mumbai.

It has official accreditation with US-based standards board the American Academy of Financial Management, which has a chartered wealth manager pathway.

The programme is approved by regulator the Securities and Exchange Board of India as one of the qualifications required to become an authorised investment adviser.

Course outline

PGDBM is a full-time, 24-month post-graduate programme created in the form of an MBA.

The first semester covers general subjects, while the second and third semesters offers functional skills and the last semester looks at the practical side of the job.

Each course will be taught through a combination of case-based learning, class discussions, assignments, field projects, seminars, management games, role play and industry interactions.

It also includes a core three-month internship.

The first batch of academics will consist of 60 students and the course fee will be around INR500,000 (£5,830, $7,249, €6,496).
