Germany’s Allianz retained second place on the league table with a brand value of $20.2bn, up from $15.2bn in 2017.

The company identified south-east Asia as a growth area.

In August, Allianz teamed up with fintech accelerator programme, Super Charger, and Standard Chartered Bank to help foster and develop Malaysia’s fintech market.

The company also inked a 15-year insurance distribution deal with Standard Chartered in January 2017 targeting five key markets in Asia.
