McNish leaves FPI to re join Zurich

Jamie McNish is to leave Friends Provident International in the UAE after just over a year at the company.

McNish joined FPI in May last year as key accounts director, Middle East and Africa. He left Swiss Life International to take up the position after it closed to its office in the Middle East to focus on its Singapore and Luxembourg operations.

At Swiss Life he had been responsible for the company’s business within the Dubai International Financial Centre and for developing wealth planning solutions for its high net worth clients across the Middle East and Africa.

McNish is due to re-join Zurich, taking a senior sales position in Singapore. When he previously worked for Zurich he had had oversight of its bank distribution in the Middle East, with a particular focus on the UAE, Bahrain and Qatar.

McNish is the second high profile name to exit FPI this year. In July long-standing general manager, Matt Waterfield, left the company to return to the UK. His departure prompted a management restructure, with Marcus Gent brought in to manage the day-to-day operations of FPI’s business in the Middle East, Africa, UK and Rest of World.

There have however, also been recent hires for FPI, with Dean Kemble returning as senior regional sales director from Standard Life International and Christophe Allafranco joining as regional sales director. Allafranco had previously worked a sales director for specialist insurer Clements Worldwide.
