PEOPLE MOVES: Aviva, Aetna International, Insight Investment

By Kirsten Hastings, 7 Feb 17

Emerging market debt seems to be a key theme, with both Aviva Investors and Insight Investment bolstering their existing teams, while Aetna International has named a director of new business sales.

Aviva Investors

Aviva Investors has appointed Stuart Ritson as the head of Asian rates and FX to boost Aviva Investors’ emerging market debt (EMD) offering in the region.

Based in London, Ritson has been with Aviva Investors since 2007 and is the portfolio manager for both local currency and blended EMD strategies. He will relocate to Singapore to take up his new role.

Prior to joining Aviva Investors, he has worked at Rabobank and Goldman Sachs Asset Management.

Aetna International

The sales leadership team at Aetna International is expanding with the appointment of Andy O’Cain as new business sales director. He starts with immediate effect and will be responsible for the development and growth of the firm’s proposition to the self-insured corporate sector (ASO).

With over 15 years’ experience, O’Cain has held a number of senior sales and business development roles within the travel and medical management sector. He joins from Cigna Insurance Services where he was head of sales and business development, having previously been head of travel development.

Insight Investment

Global investment manager Insight Investment, a BNY Mellon company, has expanded its emerging market debt (EMD) team with the appointment of Darren Louis as portfolio manager. Based in London and reporting directly to Colm McDonagh, head of emerging markets, Louis will contribute to Insight’s expanding suite of strategies that include absolute return, total return and corporate debt.

He has approximately 20 years’ experience in trading emerging market hard currency sovereign/corporate external debt, as well as local market bonds, currencies, interest rates and other money market products for Deutsche Bank, UBS and most recently Morgan Stanley.

Silverfleet Capital

Andrew Harrison has been named head of investor relations for Silverfleet Capital, based in the firm’s London office. He joins from Credit Suisse where he spent over 12 years, latterly as a member of the firm’s Private Fund Group (PFG).

During his time in PFG, Harrison raised capital for a number of buyout, energy, credit and infrastructure investment strategies including Silverfleet’s second independent fund. Most recently, Harrison was responsible for PFG’s origination and due diligence activities across Europe and Asia.

Kneip

Kneip, which provides services to manufacturers of financial investment products, has named Gary Janaway as chief operating officer. He took over responsibility for operations and IT on 1 January.

Prior to joining Kneip, Janaway was director of operations at Schroders, which he joined in 1991. His role included a broad range of responsibilities, including distribution support, fund administration, fund performance, investment risk, project management, and product implementation.

Ogier

Jersey funds and regulatory specialist Emily Haithwaite has joined law firm Ogier as a partner. She brings with her almost 20 years’ experience acting for banks and asset managers in the formation, listing and winding-up of funds.

Haithwaite also has extensive regulatory experience, having advised many investment, trust company, fund services businesses and directors on their regulatory license applications and ongoing obligations.
