PEOPLE MOVES: Credit Suisse, Generali, Novia

C-suite resignation at Swiss firm and Apac head hired at international health insurer

Credit Suisse

The chief operating officer of Credit Suisse, Pierre-Olivier Bouée, has resigned following the bank’s discovery that he ordered its head of global security services to have a former senior executive followed.

Iqbal Khan was previously chief executive of global wealth management but left Credit Suisse to join UBS as  co-president of global wealth management at the end of August.

According to media reports, Khan confronted the detectives hired to monitor him last month in Zurich, which ultimately resulted in the downfall of Bouée who accepted responsibility for his actions and stepped down.

Generali Global Health

The international health insurance provider has named Chris Campbell as head of business development for Asia Pacific.

He will be responsible to expanding Generali Global Health’s presence in the region and growing the company’s relationship network with brokers.

Campbell joins from Aetna International where he was senior sales director based in Hong Kong.

Novia Financial

The UK-based platform has made two hires.

Dave Howard joins the firm in the newly created role of chief technological officer and he will also join the executive board.

Howard was previously at Platform Action where he was a director.

Additionally, Lee Badger has been named as head of account management. He was a financial adviser at Brighton Williams & Partners for two years.

Aberdeen Standard Investments

James Millard, Aberdeen Standard’s co-head of multi-manager strategies, left the firm at the beginning of September.

He had been at Aberdeen Standard Investments for five years and was promoted to his latest role in January 2019.

He will be taking on a different position within financial services, but the company did not specify where or when.

Sanlam UK

The UK arm of the financial services group has hired Alex Knott as chief technology officer.

He will be based between the firm’s London and Bristol offices.

Knott was previously head of IT at Tilney Group, where he stayed for five years.

Stonehage Fleming

John Connolly has been named as chairman of international family office Stonehage Fleming.

He currently chairs security services firm G4S and had a similar role at Amec Foster Wheeler, a UK-based engineering company.

His appointment is effective from 1 October 2019.

Close Brothers Asset Management

Close Borthers AM has recruited Matthew Spencer to take on the role of head of business development and marketing.

He will be responsible for growing the firm’s offering to private clients and intermediaries.

He joins from Deutsche Bank where he was a managing director and head of intermediaries, multi family offices and group referrals.

RWC Partners

Huan Ke has taken on the role of head of legal and compliance at RWC Partners.

He was previously at Macquarie Asset Management as head of legal, Emea for eight years.

Ke will be based in London with responsiblility for the firm’s global legal and compliance functions.

Triple Point

The UK-based alternative investment manager has appointed Jack Rose as strategic sales director.

He joins from LGBR Capital where he spent the last seven years as head of tax efficient investment division.

He will be in charge of building and executing the firm sales strategy around existing and future retail products.
