By Robbie Lawther, 19 Jun 20

Swiss private bank names CEO, while investment firm hires global head of ESG

Hinduja Bank (Switzerland)

The private bank has named Karam Hinduja as the chief executive.

Karam Hinduja previously served on the board of Hinduja Bank and its Dubai-based subsidiary.

He replaces outgoing chief executive Gilbert Pfaeffli, who was at the firm for four years.

The bank most recently had its Cayman Islands licence revoked.

Capital Group

The global investment firm has named Jessica Ground as global head of ESG (environmental, social and governance).

She will join Capital Group in September and be based in London.

Ground has more than 20 years of industry experience, all with Schroders, where most recently she served as the firm’s global head of stewardship.

Schroders

The asset management giant has promoted head of sustainable research Andy Howard promoted to global head of sustainable investment.

He will take on leadership of the sustainable investment team, reporting to global head of investment Charles Prideaux.

Howard joined Schroders in 2016 and played a key role in the development of the company’s proprietary ESG toolkit which contains SustainEx, its impact measurement tool.

ING

The dutch banking group, which offers private banking, has named Steven van Rijswijk, currently member of the executive board and chief risk officer, as chief executive.

Van Rijswijk joined ING in 1995 and held various positions in the M&A, equity capital markets and capital structuring, and advisory teams.

In 2012, he was appointed global head of corporate clients and became global head of client coverage at ING Wholesale Banking in 2014.

He will succeed Ralph Hamers as chief executive and chairman of the executive board.

As announced earlier, Hamers will leave ING to join UBS, where he will become chief executive later in the year.

Frenkel Topping Group

The specialist independent financial adviser and wealth manager has announced chairman Paul Richardson will step down from the board of the company.

Richardson joined Frenkel Topping in 2017 as executive chairman.

He will be replaced by non-executive director Tim Linacre, who joined the board of Frenkel Topping in June 2018.
