PEOPLE MOVES: IW&I, AJ Bell, Friends Provident International

UK wealth firm names CIO, while investment platform appoints deputy chief executive

Investec Wealth & Investment UK (IW&I)

Stacey Parrinder-Johnson has been named as chief investment officer to lead the formation and development of the UK wealth firm’s investment and research office.

She joined Investec in 2005, initially as a member of the Leeds discretionary desk before joining the research team in 2013.

AJ Bell

The UK investment platforms has appointed Michael Summersgill as deputy chief executive, with effect from 1 October 2021.

Summersgill has held the position of chief financial officer since 2011 and is currently responsible for the company’s finance and operations functions.

In addition, Roger Stott has been appointed to the newly created role of chief operating officer and will join the board on 1 October 2021.

He is currently group finance director and has had a broad range of responsibilities in his thirteen years at AJ Bell.

As a result of these changes, AJ Bell is currently conducting an external search for a chief financial officer.

Also, Margaret Hassall has been appointed as a non-executive director and will join the board on 1 September 2021.

Friends Provident International

The insurance group has named Adnan Lateef as general manager of its Dubai office.

Lateef will also continue to be head of finance for Middle East and Africa.

He will work closely with Stuart Shilcock to lead FPI’s Dubai operation.

Deutsche Bank

The banking group has named Dominique Jooris as Apac head of wealth solutions

Jooris was most recently chief executive of Bank Pictet & Cie in Singapore.

Tilney Smith & Williamson

The wealth management and professional services group has strengthened its London financial planning team with the appointment of James Weston as a financial planner.

Weston joins from Saunderson House where he worked for six years, latterly as a financial planner having joined as a trainee.

Pinnacle Investment Management

The Sydney-headquartered investment manager has expanded its Emea sales team with the addition of James Longman.

Longman joins from Schroders, where he spent six years in a variety of roles, most recently in the UK intermediary team – specialising in international private banks, family offices and wealth managers.

Canaccord Genuity Wealth Management

Nick Muir has been named head of its managed portfolio service and passive investment.

He joined CGWM UK six years ago.

Pictet Group

Boris Collardi has decided that he will step down from his role as a partner and leave Pictet effective 1 September 2021.

Elif Aktuğ and François Pictet will join the board of partners then, pending regulatory approval.

Eastspring Investments

The Asian investment management arm of Prudential has named Bill Maldonado as head of equities.

He was most recently the Asia Pacific chief investment officer and global chief investment officer of equities at HSBC Global Asset Management.

Cohen & Steers

The global investment manager has named Khalid Husain as senior vice president and head of ESG.

He joins Cohen & Steers from Moody’s Investor Services, where he led the firm’s strategies for integrating ESG data and metrics into credit analysis and research.

Fidelity International

The global asset manager has appointed of Caroline Shaw as a portfolio manager.

She joins from Courtiers Asset Management, where she was head of asset management.

Manulife Investment Management

Bryony Deuchars, has joined as a managing director and senior investment analyst in the firm’s emerging markets equity strategies.

Most recently, she served as a global emerging markets portfolio manager for Mirabaud Asset Management.

In addition, Talib Saifee is being promoted to portfolio manager on the strategies, effective 1 September 2021.

Saifee joined the firm in 2019 and has more than 20 years of professional experience.
