PEOPLE MOVES: Lloyds, Credit Suisse, Generali

By Cristian Angeloni, 1 Dec 20

Banking group hires CEO from HSBC’s wealth arm, while Swiss giant names chairman

Lloyds Banking Group

Charlie Nun will become chief executive of Lloyds Banking Group.

He replaces Antonio Horta-Osorio, who is stepping down in June 2021 after a decade at the firm.

Nun is currently head of HSBC’s wealth and personal banking unit, and should be taking on the top job once Horta-Osorio leaves, but a start date has not been set yet.

Credit Suisse

In other news, Horta-Osorio is set to become chairman at Credit Suisse, once his tenure as group chief executive at Lloyds Banking group comes to an end.

He will replace Urs Rohner, who will step down in 2021 after reaching the statutory term of 12 years.

Generali Investment Partners

The investment company has hired Stephan Bannier as head of Dach sales, effective from 1 January 2021.

He will be responsible for expanding the firm’s distribution capabilities in the German, Austrian and Swiss markets.

Bannier joins from Legg Mason Global Asset Management, where he served as country head for Germany and Austria

Raymond James

Simon Monk takes on the role of branch principal of the firm’s newly established London operation.

He was previously at Brown Shipley, where he worked at for the past 26 years.

The newly opened branch will provide discretionary investment management services to clients across the UK.

Benchmark Capital

Schroders’ wealth management business has recruited Paul Fawcett as head of strategic accounts.

In the newly created role, he will be responsible for delivering technology-led solution to clients.

He joins from Bravura Solutions, where he oversaw client relationships with wealth managers, investment banks, asset managers and pension providers.

Ramsey Crookall

The Isle of Man-based wealth firm has hired Ben Rawstron as a relationship manager.

He was previously at Lloyds Bank International, where he managed international high net worth private clients, as well as providing banking and investment advice.

UBS Wealth Management

The Jersey arm of UBS Wealth Management has made two promotions.

Joe Peacock and John Pipon will both become client advisers, after serving as client adviser assistants.

Guernsey Financial Services Commission (GFSC)

Leigh-Ann Mulcahy will become president of the Guernsey regulator’s panel of senior decision makers.

She succeeds Michael Blair as he is retiring at the end of the year, after holding the position since the panel’s inception in 2014.

Mulcahy is a part-time high court judge, commercial arbitrator and mediator and has worked at the GFSC since 2014 as senior decision maker.

Saffery Champness

James Sykes has been re-elected as chairman of the accountancy firm.

His first term began in November 2016, after working at the firm since 1987.
