PEOPLE MOVES: Sarasin & Partners, Natixis, Tilney

By Kirsten Hastings, 10 Feb 17

Senior appointments were the name of the game this week with Sarasin & Partners appointing a head of distribution, Natixis Global Asset Management replacing its chief executive, and newly rebranded Tilney Group hiring a chief investment officer.

Sarasin & Partners

Philippe Broadhead has been named head of distribution at Sarasin & Partners. He will be responsible for setting the distribution strategy for fund sales in retail, wholesale and institutional markets.

Broadhead joins from Architas Multi-Manager where he spent three years building their wholesale and institutional business.  Prior to this, he was head of UK sales at Union Bancaire Privee for 18 months.

Natixis Global Asset Management

Jean Raby is to join Natixis as chief executive of NGAM on 20 February, responsible for asset management, private banking and private equity business lines.

He replaces Pierre Servant, who has been appointed senior adviser to Natixis group chief executive Laurent Mignon. His new role will involve providing strategic guidance and advisory for the company.

NGAM also announced that David Giunta has been promoted to president and chief executive of the US and Canada, in an expansion of his current role as president and chief executive of distribution across the two countries.

He replaces John Hailer, president and chief executive of the Americas and Asia, who plans to retire from the firm. Herve Guinamant will continue to oversee international distribution, including Asia, reporting to Raby.

Tilney Group

UK investment management and financial planning group Tilney (formerly Tilney Bestinvest) has announced, pending regulatory approval, that it has hired Christopher Godding as chief investment officer.

He previously served as chief investment officer at Morgan Stanley Private Wealth Management in London for nine years and was also chief investment officer and head of the global equity team at Signia Wealth.

Godding replaces Gareth Lewis who is taking up a new role at Tilney as managing director of investment strategy where he will focus on new business development and high value clients.

Rowan Dartington

Adrian Clark is to become chief operating officer of Rowan Dartington, based in Bristol. He replaces Ben Cooper who will be taking a commercial director position at the firm.

Clark brings with him 32 years’ financial services industry experience. At Rowan Dartington, Clark will be responsible for the overall management of the firm across England and Scotland.

In his new role, Cooper will be responsible, among other things, for the non-organic expansion of the business.

Axa Investment Managers

Isabelle Scemama has been appointed chief executive of Axa IM – Real Assets, effective immediately. She replaces Pierre Vaquier who is leaving the firm to pursue other interests.

Heidi Ridley will become chief executive with Kathleen Houssels named global chief investment officer, both effective as of 1 March 2017, succeeding Jeremy Baskin, who is leaving Axa IM.

Both Scemama and Ridley will report to Andrea Rossi, chief executive of Axa IM, with Houssels reporting to Ridley.

In a separate announcement, the firm announced the appointment of Daniel Neep to the UK wholesale sales team as regional sales manager. Based in Leeds, he will be responsible for building relationship with clients in the north of England.

Columbia Threadneedle

Columbia Threadneedle Investments has named Ulrik Holm Oxfeldt as its head of Nordics, based in Copenhagen. Oxfeldt, who joined on 1 February, will lead the firm’s sales and client relationships in Denmark, Sweden, Finland and Norway.

He has spent over 15 years in business development and senior client-facing positions within the asset management industry at PFA Asset Management, SEB, Nordea and ABN AMRO.
