Top 10 best performing funds in the UK

The first quarter of 2017 extended the hectic end to last year with plenty of macro and market events to keep fund managers on their toes. Here, based on data from FE Analytics, are the top 10 performing UK retail funds by three-month performance.

4. Old Mutual Asia Pacific – 15.3%

Launched in 1994, Old Mutual Asia Pacific is co-managed by Amadeo Alentorn, Ian Heslop and Mike Servant.

It mainly trades in Asian and Australasian stock markets with its largest country-holding as China, where 21% of its equity investments are.

Around 18% of the fund invests in Australian equities while other top geographies are South Korea, Hong Kong and India.

The fund has outperformed the IA Asia Pacific sector by 8% over the past year, and returned 43.2% against the IA Asia Pacific ex Japan sector’s average return of 35.1%. The sector returned 11.6% in the first quarter of this year.
