Skandia International has named Jammine Soh and Huw Wedlock to its Singapore sales team, as sales managers, as it looks to “develop and expand its distribution footprint in Southeast Asia”.

Soh’s position is a new one, while Wedlock succeeds someone who is no longer with the company. Both will report into Chris Ivinson, head of sales for Skandia in the region.

Soh comes to Skandia International – the offshore life business of Old Mutual Wealth – from Zurich International, where she spent seven years as a sales manager. Her role at Skandia will include helping the company to build its local distribution base among domestic financial advisers, matching, the company said in a statement, its “open architecture expertise, with the increasingly sophisticated demands of South East Asian investors and their financial advisers”.

Wedlock, who is set to join the company at the end of the summer, comes to Skandia International’s Singapore outpost from its offices in the UK, where he has been a wealth management consultant. His role will be to concentrate on “deepening the relationships Skandia International has with key partner financial adviser accounts”, Skandia said.

Craig Ellis, head of region and chief executive officer for Skandia in Singapore, said the appointments demonstrated the company’s commitment to its distribution partners in the region, particularly those who are keen to grow their businesses.

Old Mutual Wealth is a part of London-based Old Mutual plc. At the end of March the Old Mutual Group had some £288.4bn of client assets under management.
