Following Cockerton’s move, Andrew Dawson has been appointed as head of international bank distribution for Zurich International Life, MEA, with immediate effect.

A head of local bank distribution will also be recruited to develop Zurich’s relationships and business with local banks based in region, the company said, adding Cockerton will act as head of local bank distribution until a successor is confirmed.

Dawson would report to Jawed Barna, chief executive officer for MEA.

"We understand local and international banks have a different set of challenges and needs. We decided to further optimize our bank distribution function to ensure we provide a dedicated and tailored service that is the best in the region,” said Barna, CEO for Zurich International Life, MEA.

Dawson will develop Zurich’s business with international banks in the region, which will include management of the private banking solutions team.

He has been with Zurich since 2007, working in various senior distribution
roles across the Group. Prior to joining the MEA team, he was based in Zurich corporate center in Switzerland working in retail distribution.
