Ian Bentley is to join advisory firm AES International this week, having left Friends Provident International at the end of last month.

Bentley will take up the newly-created role of sales director at the UK-based advisory firm on 1 August.

AES said he will be responsible for "building, enhancing and further developing business processes that will help the advisers grow their business and achieve their aspirations".

“I intend to focus on building a true value proposition where our advisers can see and benefit from a forward thinking business that can create tangible value whilst focusing on quality holistic financial planning for our clients,” said Bentley.

“We will continue to look for new ways to do business and our people will remain at the very heart of everything we do.”

Bentley was most recently at FPI in Dubai where he was sales director for the Middle East and Africa, a job he held for about four years. Prior to this, Bentley held a number of other international roles including with Scottish Widows International in Dubai and FPI in Asia.

AES chief executive Sam Instone said: “We are at a key stage in our growth where the addition of the Sales Director role will play a vital part in helping us go to the next level. Ian’s particular approach and the passion he brings to the role will be central to bringing the message of positive change to life.”
