My remit includes responsibility for all marketing activity, proposition development, and fund manager relationships across the IFGL Group, including RL360, Friends Provident International (FPI), Ardan, and IFGL Pensions. I am a Board Member at Ardan International Limited, a position I have held since October 2018. Previously, I have held several senior interim roles, including Interim Programme Director at St. James’s Place Wealth Management, leading RDR, IFDS/Bluedoor, and other confidential programmes. I also served as Interim Project Lead at Legal & General, focusing on Fund Risk Rating Advice and Disclosure. Other interim leadership roles include Interim Managing Director at MD Insurance Services Limited, Interim Insurance Director at the National Pharmacy Association (NPA), and Interim Head of Sales at FirstAssist Services.
Career highlight:
I’ve been fortunate to work with some amazing people in some amazing organisations over my career. My most recent position at IFGL is the pinnacle of that journey serving clients around the globe. But every company bar one (not named) has been truly exciting and enjoyable.
Greatest challenge:
Operating globally continues to test one’s client focus with multi jurisdictions, a plethora of regulators, different cultures, customs and practices, every day is a learning day! I’ve been lucky to have a very supportive wife/friend and counsel to support my journey through the challenges in my work life. Although commuting in January isn’t and will never be a blast!
How do you relax?
I’ve a passion for food (cooking and consuming), socialising, the canals of England & Wales, clay pigeon shooting, rugby (both codes), spending time with our family red fox labradors and top of the list travel!
Most significant industry change in the past 5 years:
I’ve mainly operated in the B2B2C adviser market, and I’ve been amazed how resilient they have been to change not only over 5 years but over my whole career. Regulation is a constant so for me it has to be Covid. Covid changed work patterns, sales processes, the value we each place work life balance and the adoption of technology into sales and service models for clients, advisers and providers.
