David Denton has rejoined Skandia International having left in October 2012.

David Denton has rejoined Skandia International having left in October 2012.

Denton was head of European sales at the company, which is part of Old Mutual Wealth, for more than 13 years before a restructure saw his position made redundant.

The restructure happened following a consolidation of the Skandia businesses into Old Mutual Wealth by Skandia parent Old Mutual Group.

Denton will return to Skandia International as a member of the company’s technical team, reporting to Darren Jones, head of technical sales. In his new role, Denton will provide technical support to financial advisers and distributors around the world, with a particular focus on Europe, Asia, Middle East and Africa.

Skandia International sales director, Victor France, said: “Our strategy is to be the best investment business in our chosen markets.  A key part of that is providing the very best technical expertise and support and this appointment reinforces our intention to take it to the next level."

International Adviser was also informed that, due to unforeseen personal circumstances, Tom Northway, who joined Skandia in November as a sales consultant in Africa, has had to leave the business.

Mark Gelling has been appointed as an office-based consultant offering support to advisers based in Africa.
