Zurich’s Isle of Man team examined three offshore jurisdictions in its identification of an independent trustee with “proven international experience” that it wished to introduce to new clients.
Boal & Co said it hoped the relationship would “enhance” the Isle of Man’s reputation as a centre for international pension plans throughout the world.
It added that it was in the process of recruiting staff to support the relationship.
Boal & Co director Karen Kelly said: “The proposition will extend to new corporate plans for multinational companies in locations around the world looking for solutions.
“Working closely with Zurich, clients will deal directly with us once the introduction is made, where we will take on all trustee work following the launch of the plan.”
Head of Zurich Corporate Savings International, Nigel Simpson, said he hoped the relationship would support Zurich’s growth plans for its International Pension Plan proposition.
In January, Boal & Co recruited Trevor Smith from Standard Life to the new position of regional director for Asia.
Smith, who was previously chief distribution officer for Standard Life, is Boal & Co’s first representative based in the Far East.
