qrops bureau extends a hand to non uk ifas

The QROPS Bureau, which offers financial advisers access to a range of technical information and support on international pensions, is planning to roll out its service to advisers based outside the UK in the coming months.

Founded in 2009 by Andrew Dobson and David White, the Isle of Man based business provides advisers with a range of technical information and support to help them assist clients with global pension transfers.

The information and support available includes full due diligence reports on the main QROPS, QNUPS and international annuity schemes, and compliance support, suitability reports, administration services and more general technical assistance.

Co-founder White said: “We have previously worked with non-UK advisers and the service has been very well received.

“We intend to build on this in 2014, in addition to continuing to build our presence in the UK adviser market. We believe the proposition we have built for UK-based advisers will benefit advisers outside the UK, a growing number of which are offering their clients advice and service comparable to that obtainable from UK based firms.”

Advisers can access much of the QROPS Bureau’s support facilities through an online portal, although White said the most popular service is the suitability report that “allows advisers to demonstrate to their clients and compliance officers they have received an independent recommendation or endorsement as to the most suitable QROPS jurisdiction and provider”.
