By Mark Battersby, 11 Sep 14

Zurich has named Belinda Tan as head of local financial advisers and banks for its life business in Singapore.

Zurich has named Belinda Tan as head of local financial advisers and banks for its life business in Singapore.

Tan joins from Friends Provident International where she was regional sales manager for the bancassurance and financial adviser channels.

Her career has also included stints at AIA, Prudential Assurance Singapore, DBS bank, Great Eastern as well as Singapore International Monetary Exchange (now the Singapore Exchange).

She will start her role on September 15, reporting to Peter Huber CEO of Zurich’s Life in Singapore.

Huber said Tan will “play a crucial role at Zurich as she leads the FA and banks sales teams in growing our network and maximizing sales opportunities through these channels”.

Earlier this week, Friends Provident International executive chairman John Van Der Wielen said that he does not “rule out” a scenario in which the business is sold next year.
