After an astonishing general election that delivered a hung UK parliament, there has been nothing but political uncertainty in recent weeks. All eyes now turn to the delayed Queen’s Speech on 19 June, setting out the legislative programme for this year. The Pension Bill is likely to tackle scams and defined benefit (DB) issues, predicts Cameron.
“It’s hard to envisage any Queen’s Speech without a Pensions Bill. This year’s should set out protections from pension scams and give the Pension Regulator greater powers to protect individuals’ defined benefit pensions from unscrupulous employers or company failings.”
