Five Asian and three European cities were among the 10 most expensive places for expats to live, with the dubious honour of being the most expensive bestowed on the capital of Angola.

Hong Kong remained the most expensive city for expats in Asia despite dropping to second place from first in the 2016 survey, according to Mercer.
The Hong Kong dollar’s peg to the US dollar has driven up the cost of accommodation in the special administrative region.
