Financial planning firm unveils Aberdeen operation

By Robbie Lawther, 1 Mar 22

It is the company’s first office in Scotland

Cheltenham-headquartered RockWealth has opened a financial planning branch in Aberdeen.

This comes after it launched three UK operations in 2021.

RockWealth has offices in Cheltenham, Norwich, Leamington Spa, Brighton, Cardiff and Knutsford. The Aberdeen operation is the company’s first in Scotland.

The office will be led by the founder of RockWealth Aberdeen, Lloyd Davies, who has joined the firm from Ascot Lloyd.

He told International Adviser: “Throughout my career, I have come across many advisers and firms, each doing things slightly differently. I’ve also listened to clients to understand what it is the value and what they want from an adviser.

“This has given me a clear vision of how I would do things if I were ever running my own firm. RockWealth share my vision of how a financial planner can deliver great value and outcomes for clients and it was a natural fit to partner with them when setting up my own business.”

Organic growth

Tim Horrocks, founder and managing partner at RockWealth, also told IA: “It’s great to have a national coverage of the UK and we’re really excited to have Lloyd, who is an excellent adviser, to be part of our team. We’re looking forward to being part of the financial services sector in Scotland.

“We want really good people representing the RockWealth story. It’s not geographies we are looking for, it is the right people.

“Hopefully, we can find similar kind of people to Lloyd and others that have opened offices already. We’re not looking for massive exponential growth, we are looking at slow steady organic growth and it is really about the right people joining us.

“We’re not tied to any particular numbers, but we are certainly open to helping others start up businesses.”
