There were no African nations among the top 10 expat destinations in 2016, according to Expat Insider. The highest ranking country was Uganda (25), which gained 20 places from last year; followed by Morocco (37), Kenya (46), and South Africa (51).

African nations, however, were the most represented among the bottom 10; with Nigeria (65), Egypt (62), Mozambique (61), and Tanzania (58).

Nigeria also came in third to last in 2015, taking last place in the ‘Quality of Life’ and ‘Cost of Living’ indices. It did slightly better in the ‘Ease of Settling In’ index, but worse in the ‘Personal Finance’ category.
