2) Murray International

Behind Scottish Mortgage is global equity income vehicle, Murray International.

Led by Bruce Stout, senior investment manager in Aberdeen Standard Investment’s global equities team, the trust has been a perennial favourite on the AIC’s website, taking the top spot in its most searched for list in 2015 and 2016.

This year marks the fifth consecutive year it has featured in the top five of the rankings.

While its performance over the year couldn’t touch Scottish Mortgage’s, the investment company still managed to produce a respectable return of 15.2%.
