Asset manager and advice firm make c-suite changes

Aviva Investors

The global asset management business of Aviva has appointed Daniel McHugh as chief investment officer.

McHugh is taking on an expanded role from his previous position as chief investment officer of real assets.

Fairstone

The wealth advice firm has expanded its senior leadership team with Simon Wilson joining as chief financial officer.

The appointment follows the departure of former chief financial officer Iain Jamieson.

Wilson was previously chief financial officer at River and Mercantile.

Standard Life

The wealth manager has hired Warren Bright to the newly created role of head of retail intermediary distribution.

He will be responsible for developing relationships with the financial adviser community and the market positioning of Standard Life’s suite of income and investment products, and related services.

Bright joins from LV= and will report to Chris Hudson, Standard Life’s retail advised managing director.

Bank Syz

The bank has named Gabriel Aractingi as managing partner and head of Middle East.

Aractingi was previously managing director and head of Middle East private wealth management at Goldman Sachs.

Nucleus

The financial platform has appointed Craig Metcalf as strategic account director.

Metcalf joins from Canada Life Asset Management, where he was head of strategic alliances.

AJ Bell

Alena Kosava has left her position as head of investment research at the investment platform after just a year in the role.

Kosava joined in June 2022 from Avellemy Investment Managementm where she was head of collectives, multi-asset multi-manager funds.

Ryan Hughes will cover the role in the interim period in addition to his current role until a permanent replacement is found.

Charles Russell Speechlys

The law firm has hired Marcus Yorke-Long from Barclays Private Bank to join as head of its soon-to-be launched private office.

Yorke-Long will lead the private office’s strategic development and oversee the firms network of support for global family offices, together with the wider private office team.

Close Brothers

The asset manager has appointed Marcus Vertue as senior investment director.

Marcus joins from Investec Wealth & Investment.
